Its really happening. I got the call from the hospital this morning to confirm what time we have to be there. Made me nervous just talking to them. I have known since Payton was 2 weeks old that he would have to have this surgery. It doesnt make it any easier. This is the first time that one of my children will have to have surgery. I know that he is in good hands and God is watching over us. I am still really nervous about sending my baby away to surgery.
Here are the details that I know so far. Wednesday 1/18/12( my birthday!) Payton will have to have a bath in the evening and have his hair washed. He can eat normally all night that night.
Thursday 1/19/12: Payton can have formula until 7am. From 7am until 11am he can have clear liquids. This is a blessing because P doesnt like to miss meals! We have to be at the hospital at 11:15am for pre op. The surgery is scheduled to start at 1pm. This is a 3 hour procedure. He will have to be in recovery for several hours. As of right now he is scheduled to stay the night Thursday. Tim and I are allowed to stay with him. We will be discharged Friday morning.
I am so thankful that we have good doctors close to home that can take care of Payton. I have ben praying everyday for a quick and pain free recovery for our happy little boy. I will be updating on here Thursday. The hospital has wi fi and we will have our computer and cameras with us.
Praying for you all!!!!
